The only thing i had to do to prep the frame for paint was rub a rough cloth over the top of the paint due to the paint on it being relatively fresh however the side stand was in poor condition and had to be thoroughly cleaned and the swingarm had some large rust holes which i welded shut to increace the strength of the swingarm.
once i had prepped the frame it was ready for paint, i think i used a mix of fiat metalic silver and a variety of bmw silver.
