nsr150 full race engine

The engine in the bike is dead so now the real fun begins, i have a list of parts, a wallet full of money and a head full of wacky ideas, what a great combination.
im starting out with the normal 1990 nsr125 engine below

The parts and to do list comprises of
1x nsr150 cylinder
1x nsr150 head

1x nsr150 top end rebuild kit
1x nsr150 crankshaft
new bearings throughout
aluminium polished casings
new gaskets throughout
refinished engine components
ebc high performance clutch
tyga performance intake manifold
keihin pj39 carburetor
reworked air filter
giannelli exhaust
cylinder port blueprinting, stepping and reshaping
head skimming to lower compression ratio
new ignition system (still origional honda)
The pictures below are of the empty polished casings with the carb and manifold attatched

The pictures below compare the differences between the honda nsr125 and the nsr150 crankshafts and con rods, the nsr150 crankshaft casting is a lot more sturdy than the nsr125 casting but both have almost the same stroke. the two con rods have a 10mm length difference.
The nsr150 crank is on the right and the nsr125 crank is on the left in both photographs.

The next few pictures show the ports in the engine some are before and some are after i had reshaped them

The next few pictures are of all the performance bits on their own and some in situe for your own reference

final rebuild

First engine rebuild

building the frame

Once i had the frame parts painted it was time for assembly, i used an engine hoist to suspend the alcast frame in the air while i bolted on all the other parts which make up the frame.
